Union Leaders not optimistic about economy this Labor Day
Labor leaders feel that the working class has little to celebrate this Labor Day. The president of the A.F.L.-C.I.O., John Sweeney, complained that with the unemployment rate at 6.2%, too many people were out of work. Labor leaders have also criticized the Bush administration for allowing jobs to go overseas and for their revisions of the overtime pay rules.
