Overseas tech firms alter job market, pay
As foreign countries are increasingly able to offer information technology services at lower costs, many U.S. companies are sending more high-tech work overseas. However, this move overseas creates a downward pressure on wages that may reduce the need to cut American jobs by making American industry more competitive. Harris Miller, president of the Information Technology Association of America, said that business and government should focus on raising the skills of U.S. workers as another strategy for staying competitive.
