Justice Report on Minority Hiring Edited
A report by KPMG Consulting and Taylor Cox & Associates about hiring and promotion of minority and women attorneys at the Justice Department was edited in order to delete criticisms before it was released to the public. Although the statistical information was not subject to editing, many of the conclusions and recommendations were blackened out in the edited version. Justice Department officials said that the conclusions were not published because they pertained to internal decision making and maintained that there were many ongoing programs to hire and retain greater numbers of minority and women attorneys.
