Appeals Court: NLRB Only Covers U.S.
A federal appeals court has ruled that the National Labor Relations Board
(NLRB) has no power to take action against U.S. companies for unfair labor
practices committed outside the country, even in the case of Americans
working abroad. The ruling stems from a case involving a Pennsylvania
company that unfairly discharged two Americans working in Canada. It was
found that the NLRB could not insist that the company rehire the two men.
