Job fair opens up doors for veterans
A job fair run by the Illinois Department of Employment Security helps put veterans in contact with over 50 employers. Another goal of the fair is to provide job opportunities to ex-convicts, some of whom are also veterans. Businesses that hire ex-convicts are given extra insurance and a $2,400-per-person tax credit by the state to promote hiring.
