Employers Form Health Insurance Alliance
Part time and contract workers are among those who don't qualify for health insurance at companies like Ford, UPS, McDonald's and other major employers. Recognizing the importance of health care protection, its effect on worker productivity and the soaring costs of company health benefits, a group of fifty large corporations is forming a pool of their uninsured employees to negotiate a lower health insurance rate. Some four
million of an estimated 43.6 million Americans without health insurance could be affected.
