Respect for workers' rights grows
The International Labour Organization (ILO) has released its second Global Report, "Organizing for Social Justice," on freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining under the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. The report found that work life is on the whole improving for workers across the world. However, some very serious problems remain for workers who try and organize including murder, violence, and arrest. For example, in Colombia 62 trade unionists were murdered in 2003.
