IOC Targeted Over Sportswear Sweatshops
Workers' rights activists want the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to use its influence to encourage sportswear companies to improve working conditions in ?sweatshops.? Protests have been held to bring attention to the issue. An IOC spokeswoman said that the committee condemns unfair labor practices and requires all manufacturers it works with to comply with all applicable laws and safety regulations.
