US Air to Seek 5-Year Extension for Pension Fund Payments
Trying to keep itself out of bankruptcy, US Airways will ask the government if they can spread out what they owe in pension contributions over five years. US Airways is also seeking $800 million in wage and benefit cuts from its unions. In recent years more companies have been asking the government for pension extensions.
