Mexican-Americans Struggle for Jobs
Many Mexican-American workers have been hurt by the outsourcing of textile manufacturing jobs to low-wage countries. Ironically, many of these immigrants, who came to America to achieve greater financial security, have seen their jobs shipped back to their home country. According to an analysis by the Economic Policy Institute, Nafta has affected the low-skilled, low-wage Latino workers near the border more than any other place.
