States Are Battling Against Wal-Mart Over Health Care
Wal-Mart has come under attack for its
employee health care policy. Critics say that Wal-Mart does not provide adequate healthcare for its workers, causing them to rely on state insurance programs or charity. Wal-Mart official say that healthcare is a national issue which they cannot be expected to solve. Wal-Mart has
invested $500,000 to defeat California?s Proposition 72, which would force big employers to either provide affordable health insurance or pay into a state insurance pool.
