Lawsuits and Change at Wal-Mart
Wal-Mart has been the target of several employee complaints concerning off-the-clock work. These charges have caused the retailer to change some of its practices. The computer system in its stores no longer allows cashiers to continue ringing up customers after they clock out, employees are told not to work off the clock during orientation, and managers are directed not to allow such work.
