Riding a Wave of Whistle-Blowing
The recent wave of high-profile corporate scandals has led to an increase in the number of workers accusing their firms of misconduct. Congress' approval of a law in 2002 offering new protection to corporate whistle-blowers further increased such allegations. The new law restricts companies from retaliating against workers who file complaints. Lawyer representing businesses claim that many allegations are false and made simply to extract a settlement from employers.
