D.C. Hotel Workers Ratify 3-Year Pact, End Strike Threat
Hotel workers from fourteen of the District of Columbia?s major hotels approved a three year contract that includes a guarantee that workers will not have to pay health insurance premiums. The major victory for the hotels was the duration of the contract ? three years instead of the two years sought by the union. Negotiations began last September when the previous contract ended. The agreement was approved by 98 percent of the membership.
