Grocers, Union in Bay Area Reach Deal
Three major supermarket chains have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract with the United Food and Commercial Workers union in the Bay Area. Negotiations were likely influenced by the supermarket strike in Central and Southern California a year ago. The contract doesn't include a two-tier wage system, which was one of the most controversial issues in the Central and Southern California labor dispute.
