Employment Costs Rise in 4th Quarter
In the fourth quarter of 2004, U.S. employment costs rose 0.7 percent. This was slightly less than the 0.9 percent rise forecasted by the Employment Cost Index. Salaries and wages rose 0.4 percent, their slowest rate in nearly six years.
