Laid off at 50: How some bridge the retirement gap
Workers laid-off over 50 often face a tough situation--they cannot afford to retire and yet it is difficult for them to find a new job. For those who do find new jobs, they are often not as good as the ones they used to have. Employment counselors say that older workers must be willing to consider a wide range of job opportunities and break with their past career path.
