Questions Arise of Possible Bias at Drug Maker
A Johnson & Johnson company memo raising concerns about diversity issues may be used to support a motion to certify an employment discrimination lawsuit filed in 2001 by several African-American and Hispanic employees as a class action. The memo states that Johnson & Johnson may be vulnerable to employment discrimination lawsuits due to their inadequate tracking of promotions, unequal salaries and insufficient efforts to recruit women and minorities. The plaintiffs in this suit claim that they were unfairly passed over for promotions and that they received lower pay than their white colleagues.
