Jury Finds Bias in Firings of Whites
A federal jury has found New Orleans's district attorney Eddie Jordan?s firing of white workers in his office was racially motivated. Jordan, the city?s first black district attorney, fired 53 of 77 white nonlawyers in his office and replaced them with blacks upon being hired. The fired employees were awarded back pay and damages.
