Analysis: Good Looks May Mean Better Pay
Researchers at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis analyzed several studies that suggest there is a link between attractiveness and better pay. According to one study a person with below-average looks tended to earn 9 percent less than those with average looks. Height and weight were also found to be significant factors. However, it is hard to pinpoint discrimination because it is possible that good-looking people tend to develop self-confidence and social skills that explain their higher earnings.
