Labor Dept. Plans Increasing Scrutiny of Union Finances
The Labor Department is planning to increase the number of audits of the nation's labor unions. They are hoping that this will serve as a deterrent for corruption. However, many labor leaders say that this is simply political retaliation for their support of Senator John Kerry in the 2004 presidential election.
