Has tech employment turned a corner?
A study released Tuesday by the American Electronics Association found that the country's high-tech industry shed 25,300 jobs in 2004, compared to 333,000 job losses in 2003 and 612,000 in 2002. The implication that hiring in the technology industry may have turned a corner has increased the confidence of many information technology workers. However, tech professionals still face threats from lower-wage nations such as India or China and automation.
