China's Use of Child Labor Emerges From the Shadows
Human rights advocates are attempting to illuminate the problem of child labor in China. The deaths of five girls late last year, and subsequent cover-up by their employer, have led to efforts by human rights groups to shed light on a problematic situation. The Chinese government forbids children under 16 from working, though critics claim that there is little enforcement of the rule.
