Villepin pledges to listen
Days after the French 'non' sent shockwaves throughout the EU, internal workplace strife is threatening to disrupt the country's commuting industry. New Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin has pledged that "The major battle that we are going to lead is the battle for jobs," and will be given a trial by fire as French public transport workers began a strike over wages and working conditions. The work stoppage is scheduled to last until Friday.
