N.Y.U. Moves to Disband Graduate Students Union
NYU's provost and vice president have proposed that the university stop recognizing its graduate student union, which constitutes the labor movement's only toehold among graduate students at private universities. The administration argues that union grievances had threatened academic decision-making. The leader of the students' union said he and his colleagues would immediately start organizing for recognition again were the group to be shut down.
