Workers at Unocal Corp. are in better spirits following the news that CNOOC Ltd. will not be buying the California oil company. The pall of uncertainty that had hung over the California oil company's worldwide workforce for months has been lifted with the news that Chevron Corp. will likely be buying the company. Even so, Unocal employees are likely to face significant upheaval in the coming months, whether through job cuts, relocation, reassignment or the installation of new bosses.
