Grandmother Fired for Katrina Absences
A woman who cared for her grandchildren while their parents were stranded in New Orleans has been fired for missing work. Barbara Roberts, who worked at Positronic Industries, asked for extra days off to remain with her grandchildren after the levees broke in New Orleans. She was told on the phone that she would be fired, and on September 6th, she was. The president of the company has refused to discuss the incident.
