Foes Say Governor Targets Minorities
A coalition of community activists and minority leaders has come out against California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's proposal that would limit union political spending and redraw district lines in the state. Activists argue that the proposals, up for vote on November 8, would have severe impacts on urban areas and minority workers. Community groups fear that redistricting would dilute the voting power of minorities.
