Union's Latest Idea: Organize a Contest
The Service Employees International Union has taken an unusual approach to finding solutions to workforce problems; they're having a contest. A bipartisan panel of judges will award prizes of as much as $100,000 for the best ideas received through Monday, when the contest ends. The union also has pledged to back the winning idea with a campaign that could include supporting legislative change.
