Strike-hit Alitalia cancels 200-plus flights
Alitalia canceled more than 200 flights Tuesday, the sixth day of crippling strikes that have again raised the possibility of bankruptcy for the national icon. Employees of the unprofitable carrier are protesting what they call the company's lack of a coherent strategy to return to profitability and their poor relations with management, which has struggled for years to tame the unions.
