According to a United Auto Workers leader, GM and Delphi are offering several enticements to union workers, including retirement incentives as high as $35,000. GM and Delphi hope that workers? acceptance of these inducements will allow GM to eliminate some 30,000 factory jobs by 2008, as amicably as possible.
