Northwest Flight Attendants Reject Contract Cutting Pay
Flight attendants at Northwest Airlines rejected a contract on Tuesday that would have cut their pay by $195 million a year, betting that improving financial conditions for the industry will help persuade a bankruptcy judge that the airline can afford to pay more. The rejection, by about 80 percent of the 8,700 flight attendants voting, came with a strike threat.
