The Workplace: Clearing the air
One of your co-workers often has an unpleasant smell. Before you break out the air freshener, is there a polite way to let him know that the odor bothers you? Is it ever appropriate to tell a colleague that he stinks? You might want to drop an anonymous note, like in high school. Or you could talk to the person face-to-face, but this may be embarrassing. Of course, an employee can be fired for bad odor, especially if that odor tries to unionize.
