Delta wins plea to end pilots' pension plan
A U.S. bankruptcy judge approved Tuesday a request by Delta Air Lines to terminate its pilots' pension plan. Delta, one of the largest U.S. carriers, must still go to the federal government's pension agency, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp., to end the plan officially. At that time, the pension agency will take over the plan and pay pilots reduced benefits. The change would be retroactive to Sept. 2.
