Ford set to unveil fresh shake-up
Automaker Ford is widely expected to announce another round of job cuts as it finalises its restructuring drive. Up to 6,000 white-collar jobs could be on the line, according to reports, as the firm struggles to cut costs. Ford's board is currently discussing ways to reinvigorate the ailing business, which posted a $123 million loss in the second quarter of 2006. The company has already announced plans to axe 30,000 jobs and shut 14 factories in North America.
