2 nations jostle over job cuts at EADS
The troubles at the European plane maker Airbus triggered a bout of political maneuvering Wednesday as France and Germany called on the company and its parent, European Aeronautic Defense & Space, to be equitable in apportioning potential job cuts across national lines as it prepared for "difficult times" ahead and a major reorganization. The jostling came as shares of EADS tumbled Wednesday after the group said late Tuesday that it would deliver only one A380 superjumbo jet next year and warned of ?4.8 billion, or $6.1 billion, in losses related to the delay.
