Court Upholds NLRB Union-Organizing Rule
The NLRB election rules passed in December 2014 that allowed documents to be electronically filed and granted unions access to all employee emails have been upheld by a federal-district court. The NLRB adopted the rules to streamline and modernize the election vote process, but there has been criticism from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Retail Federation, and others that the rules violate employee privacy and greatly reduce the amount of time an employer has to communicate with employees prior to an election vote.
