Kansas City Minimum Wage Hike? $15 Hourly Pay Proposed By Missouri Activists
The Kansas City Council voted in July to raise the city’s minimum wage incrementally from the current $8.50 to $13.00 by 2020. The city could see an initiative on the November ballot to hike the minimum wage even higher to the $15 already passed by cities like San Francisco and Los Angeles. Enough petitions have already been collected to get the measure on the ballot. Kansas City’s Midwestern location could encourage minimum wage increases to spread across more of the country.
