Prosecutors: Boys Taken From US Custody, Put to Work at Farm
Teens trying to escape horrible conditions in Central American countries have fled to the United States. U.S. immigration policy prevents minors from being turned away, thus they are placed in federal custody. U.S. citizens looking for inexpensive labor have submitted falsified documents to have these teens released into their custody. Many of these teens were taken to egg farms in Ohio where they were forced to work long hours for almost no pay.
