Millions Strike in India to Protest Against Modi's Labor Reforms
Yesterday, close to 150 million workers in India went on a one day strike in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's plans to reform the labor market. Modi would like to implement new labor policies that give companies more flexibility when hiring and firing employees. Indians believe that these new policies will put their jobs at risk. Yesterday's strike is estimated to have cost the country $3.7 billion.
