Student Loans Could Help Avert U.S. Airline Pilot Shortage: Union Head
The airline industry in the United States will face a shortage of pilots for regional carriers in the future. According to the Tim Canoll, president of the Air Line Pilots Association International, people are discouraged from going to pilot's school because it is very costly and most entry-level jobs have relatively low wages and few benefits. Canoll suggests that the government should offer loans to pilots in school.
