U.S. Economy Grew at 1.5% Rate in Third Quarter
Mostly due to slower inventory accumulation, overall economic growth in the U.S. slowed to 1.5% in the third quarter. This is a fairly large drop from the level of expansion in the spring, which was at 3.9% Despite this downturn, consumer spending on goods continued at a steady pace.
