Lufthansa Strike Affected Over 550,000 Passengers
On Friday, a strike held by employees of Lufthansa came to an end. The strike, which was over pension and pay benefits, lasted for seven days and affected 550,000 passengers. In addition, the strike forced the airline to cancel 47,000 flights over the course of a week. The union representing the workers threatened that a strike will happen again if the two parties cannot reach an agreement. Approximately 19,000 Lufthansa employees are members of the union that orchestrated this strike.
