MTA, Transit Workers Union Strike Tentative Deal Hours After Contract Expires
After its previous labor contract expired at midnight, New York's Metropolitan Transit Authority has reached a tentative contract with the Transit Workers Local 100 Union this morning. The union represents over 40,000 bus, subway, and regional rail workers who serve over 8 million riders across 12 counties of New York's metropolitan area. The new contract includes wage increases that beat inflation, as well as other "economic gains".
