Video Game Voice Actor Strike Now Second-Longest In SAG History
SAG-AFTRA's voice actor strike is now the second longest in screen actor's guild history. The union is representing voice actors from 11 different video game companies in a strike that began on October 21 and is now on its 97th day. One of the main elements of the strike is the issue of awarding bonuses to voice actors if a certain amount of units are sold. The actors are seeking profit sharing programs and residual payments. The voice actors had previously negotiated with the gaming companies "in good faith" for 19 months. The longest SAG strike took place in 2000 and spanned 183 days over a dispute about commercials.
