British Airways cabin crew begin six days of strikes
Members of British Airways' mixed fleet cabin crew began a six day walkout on Sunday to protest their low wages. The crew members are being represented by Unite, and some currently earn as little as £12,000 a year, plus bonuses and flying time. The airline has imposed large sanctions to dissuade the crew members from striking, including docking bonuses for two years and taking away travel discounts for a year. The mixed fleet cabin crew members have gone one strike two previous times, which caused 68 cancellations over five days.
