Contingent Faculty to Hold Strike Vote on Feb. 13-14
The unions for contingent faculty at Ithaca College have scheduled a vote to determine support to strike for February 13. The strike would protest the current disintegration of collective bargaining aimed to improve compensation for contingent faculty members. IC released a disapproving statement claiming "meaningful progress" had been made by negotiators. Several faculty members have already admitted that they would not participate in a strike, citing a respect for education time.
