Trump Joins Trudeau in Vowing Boost to Women in Workplace
President Donald Trump met with Canada's Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, in D.C. today to work on promoting and retaining women in the workforce and increasing their access to capital. The two leaders met with female executives, including CEOs of GE Canada, TransAlta, Linamar, Accenture North America, and member of General Motors' board of directors. Trump and Trudeau discussed policies to keep women in the workforce. President Trump has proposed guaranteeing six weeks of paid leave for mothers, but neglects fathers as well as mothers who adopt children. Canada already has a 17-week maternity policy for mothers, and a 37 week parental leave that can be shared between both parents.
