Boston College’s Graduate Employees Union - United Automobile Workers (BCGEU-UAW) announced that it has petitioned the NLRB to hold a union election. The action follows the NLRB's August decision, which granted graduate employees at private universities protection under the NLRA. Following Harvard's unsuccessful December election, Boston College is the second university in the Boston area to attempt to organize its graduate employees.
