NLRB rules against Hyundai in holiday plant walkout
The National Labor Relations Board ruled that Hyundai's Montgomery Alabama assembly plant violated workers rights last year. The plant fired three employees walked off the job after a holiday-season scheduling dispute. The NLRB ruled that the employees were engaging in a "protected concerted activity" and that a manager "unlawfully interrogated" the employees following the walkout. As a result of the ruling, Hyundai must rehire the three employees, who were all granted back pay with interest, and hang a notice informing workers of their labor rights and of the violation. Hyundai has the right to appeal the case in Washington, DC.
